Alex Flett, 2006: Geology sculpture.

The two pieces called Geology I and Geology II began with a set of rough sketches made in Norway in 2005. Although they were titled from geology, they are more about the way that fossils can be found stuck together in rocks and hark back to work based on Nautilus shells made in London in 1969/70. The works were begun at Lochfergus during 2006 and eventually finished in Durban and were exhibited as a part of the Durban Odyssey show at the Durban University of Technology Gallery in 2007.
